These capabilities allow the Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) user community to produce and maintain high-quality international specification compliant products with a significant amount of automation. Outside the AIM community, ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting is used by civil aviation authorities and military air forces around the world.

What are the various data models available in ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting?

ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting, at 10.2, supports the Aeronautical Information System (AIS) data model which is Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) compliant. The AIS is fully extensible to meet the needs of individual users.

What do I get when I purchase ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting?

ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting is bundled with components for data quality control, cartographic product generation and workflow management for AIM users. Can I use the current version of ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting with an older version of ArcGIS?

No. To install and function correctly, the versions must match. For example, ArcGIS for Aviation: Charting 10.2.2 requires ArcGIS 10.2.2.
